Lyman

Early on, in the early 70's Lyman, an importer, imported revolvers made by Uberti, using the "U" in the center of an octagon, and Armi San Paolo, using the early "DGG" mark. But from 1970 to 1978, Lyman was owned by the Leisure Group, which owned various other outdoor companies such as High Standard Firearms. High Standard did make black powder percussion revolvers as well, if only for a short time. With the High Standard revolvers, the frames were made by High Standard and the balance of the parts by Uberti in Italy. The guns were assembled and finished by High Standard in the USA. Most were cased sets commemorating the Centennial in 1976, and were mostly Griswold & Gunnisons.. Lyman may have sold some of these sets. But in the early 70's Armi San Paolo and Uberti are the most likely makers of most Lyman imported revolvers.
