SILE-INC

Sile, Inc. imported revolvers made by either Armi San Paolo around 1975, or by a consortium of Italian gun makers known as COM GARDONE VT. If it has the letters COM stamped on the barrel under the loading leaver, it is a consortium made revolver. COM GARDONE VT was an association (consortium) of Italian manufacturers who jointly produced revolvers for the European an International market in the period of the 80s where the demand was strong enough to require a large production of products of low game, making it possible to manufacture in different workshops, then assemble the different parts under a single brand that does not identify the original manufacturer and damage his reputation.

Sile was a gun shop and previous distributor, importer, and manufacturer located in New York, NY. In addition to distributing a wide variety of firearms and related accessories (including the mfg. of stocks and grips), Sile Distributors also had some firearms "private labeled" to their specifications.

The gun shop was in lower Manhattan and closed down about a decade ago. They were next door to another gun shop called John Jovino's. They both used to make most of their sales to NYPD members but the NYPD began selling service weapons at their own Equipment Section in Police Headquarters which basically put Sile out of business in the late 90's. John Jovino's was  the oldest gun retailer in New York City and said to be the oldest gun shop in the United States until its closing in 2020.
